"Happiness and Courtesy" - the Olympic Smiling Rings
2008.07.14
The "smiling rings" are the greatest symbol of the Olympics. Made up of the five colors of the Olympic rings, they express the helpfulness and hospitality of Olympic volunteers.
On the morning of July 14, 2008, the Beijing Olympic Committee handed out thousands of smiling rings to encourage Olympic spectators to watch the games "with happiness and courtesy". Residents who sign up to the "happiness and courtesy" pledge received free smiling rings, and they will be handed out to spectators at the Olympic venues as well.
