In
early 2020, while the Covid-19 epidemic is wreaking havoc around the
globe, it is also impeding vaccination among children. To contain the
spread of the virus, community health service centers are not allowed
to open. Parents are worried about the delay in vaccinations and the
risk of infection in the health center. Community health centers are
also faced with the problem of expired vaccines and the lack of
precautions and safety measures to eliminate the risk of
cross-infections.
To
make sure health centers are well prepared, and children can be
safely vaccinated, Haier Biomedical provides smart vaccination
solutions. On 28thFebruary, Cui, Bocheng, director of the immunization department of
the Genghis Khan Community Health Service Center in Hohhot City in
Inner Mongolia, introduced via live stream the safe vaccination
solutions which are based on five IoT technologies.

During
the live stream, Director Cui walked through five safety measures
including sectioned reservation, IoT infrared body temperature
reading, IoT alert of expired vaccines, IoT hand hygiene and IoT air
quality & safety. After the livestream, parents were more
confident in the re-opening of health service centers.
Parents
first make appointments on Wechat in different time sections to avoid
gathering. Then the medical staff retrieve the vaccine from the Haier
IoT Hailemiao Vaccine Storage Cabinet and verify the information
through multiple checks and scanning to ensure error-free
vaccination. When preparing vaccines for multiple recipients, the
system gives a smart alert for opened vaccines and the number of
vaccinated people to avoid unsafe and faulty operations.

check with one-time scanning for error-free vaccination)
To
deal with the issue of expired vaccines, the Haier Hailemiao Vaccine
Storage Cabinet runs a vaccine management system that keep records of
input, output, inventory and stock. Real-time stock is displayed on
the screen and each vaccine can be traced back to the manufacturer.
On top of that, the cabinet also displays the temperature within the
cabinet and sends alerts if the temperature becomes abnormal. The
system will give medical staff warnings for expired or near-expiry
vaccines as well as low-stock vaccines. All through the system, all
vaccines can be traced, checked and managed throughout the whole
process.

In
addition to the safety guarantee of vaccines, Haier Hailemiao
solutions also provides protection for parents, children and medical
staff. Upon entry to the service center, both parents and children
will go through an IoT infrared body temperature thermometer and will
be allowed access if their temperature is in the normal range.
Haielemiao hand hygiene solution will record the times nurses
sterilize their hands and helps to avoid cross-infection during the
vaccination.

As
for air quality, a Haier IoT air disinfection machine is installed in
the immunization area of the service center to create a safe and
germ-free environment. In the meantime, the machine displays the air
quality, room temperature and humidity on the screen so that parents
can feel reassured while their children are being vaccinated.

During
the Covid-19 epidemic, Haier Biomedical adopts the government
recommendations of separate appointments and distanced vaccination,
and first applies IoT technologies to the vaccination scenario. Haier
solutions not only assuage parents’ concern but also decrease the
risk of infection after the health service centers have re-opened.
This is a win-win-win situation for parents, children, and the
service center.
