During
the novel coronavirus epidemic, medical staff and scientific
researchers on the frontline have been the most admirable heroes. It
is of paramount importance to protect them from the virus, especially
amid sampling and testing. Without professional protective equipment,
they will be directly exposed to the virus.
To
tackle these challenges, Haier Biomedical has provided laboratory
safety solutions to multiple expert groups including the military
medical expert group and the National Institute for Viral Disease
Control and Prevention, at the China Center for Disease Control and
Prevention. Haier biosafety cabinets are installed in laboratories
and mobile testing vehicles to provide protection for scientific
researchers.
Build
tent labs with Chen Wei research team
On
31stJanuary, China was expending great efforts in combating Covid-19.
Chen, Wei, a researcher at The Academy of Military Medical Sciences
of the PLA Academy of Military Science and member of the Chinese
Academy of Engineering, said that the mobile tent Nucleic Acid
Testing (NAT) laboratories
had been put into operation in the morning. They increased the
testing speed and shortened waiting time by utilizing domestically
developed testing kits and automatic nucleic
acidsampling technology.
Although
the mobile labs feature a higher biosafety level, the expert group is
still faced with risks of infection. To reduce the risks, Haier Class
II A2 Biosafety Cabinets were installed as protective equipment for
the novel coronavirus testing and the research on vaccine antibodies.

biosafety cabinets in mobile testing vehicles
Apart
from the mobile tent lab,the frontline military
medical expert group in Wuhan, had another secret weapon - mobile
testing vehicles. They are viewed as reinforced mobile tent labs.
Simply put, they installed a mobile tent lab on the chassis of a
trailer which can be deployed to the epidemic area and start testing
immediately.
Like
in the tent lab, researchers in the mobile
testing vehicle are also faced with the risk of infection. Therefore,
inside the mobile testing vehicle in Wuhan, Haier biosafety cabinets
were installed to offer protection for scientific researchers.

Build
a P3 negative pressure tent laboratory in Suifenhe City
As
of mid-April, more Chinese were returning to China through Suifenhe
Border Control in Heilongjiang Province. The local government was
burdened with the pressure of dealing with importedCovid-19 cases. On
13thApril, in order to combat cross-border transmissions and support the
local government, the China
Center for Disease Control and Prevention dispatched an expert group
of 15 people to Suifenhe City to build a P3 negative pressure tent
laboratory.
On
12thApril, Haier Biomedical delivered biosafety cabinets and reagent
freezers, etc. to Suifenhe Center Disease
Control and Prevention and supported the construction of the P3
negative pressure tent laboratory.

By
utilizing Haier Biomedical’s new generation smart IoT biosafety
cabinets, users can book sterilization sessions with one touch on the
app and ensure safety at all times. In addition, Haier biosafety
cabinets, with their innovative constant wind-flow technology, ensure
the safety of the lab staff and the environment by maintaining a
stable air curtain on the front window and preventing the inflow of
lab air and the escape of microorganisms.
In
combating Covid-19, labs and mobile testing vehicles have provided a
key technological platform for expert groups in their research and
testing of the novel coronavirus. But direct contact with the virus
also means the highest risk of infection. Haier
Biosafety Lab solutions build a biosafety firewall between medical
staff and scientific researchers to make sure that they can
safely contact and test the virus.
