The 0pening Ceremony For Sanyo Production Facility in Haier The opening ceremony for the production facility of Sanyo (Qingdao) Electric Co., Ltd. is held on December 25 and Sanyo president Ille Toshiaki and vice president Furuse Yoichiro, Qingdao vice mayor Yu Chong, Haier CEO Zhang Ruimin and president Yang Mianmian attended the event. "We dare not come to Qingdao before as Haier is here. Now, we do as we are partners with Haier,"drolly said Ille Toshiaki before the ceremony. Haier CEO Zhang Ruimin said, "We have a saying in China that suspicious snow implies an abundant year. It snowed the day before yesterday and yesterday, and we have bright sunlight today that is a good omen Sanyo will make significant success in Qingdao." At the ceremony, Mr. Zhang Ruimin said, "The cooperation between Sanyo and Haier is an achievement of our competitively joint development strategy." Mr. Ille Toshiaki iterated that, "On the occasion to celebrate the 30th anniversary of normalized diplomatic relations between China and Japan, it is of great significance for both Haier and Sanyo to made a decision for cooperation. Thanks for Haier's efficient assistance that we spent only 8 months to put this factory into operation. This construction period will be a criterion for Sanyo to follow for future investments in any corner of the world." After the ceremony, participating officials visited Sanyo advanced production facilities. In the VIP lounge, Mr. Zhang Ruimin presented Mr. Ille Toshiaki the Painting of Pines and Cranes with his own handwriting, Pines and Cranes for Longevity and Permanent Prosperity. Reportedly, the inverter compressors manufactured by this factory were installed to two models of Haier TKWZ 007 refrigerators on the factory's first operational day.
