On 25th September, Fortune China officially published 2014 “the Most Admired Chinese Enterprises” ranking list. Alibaba, Baidu, Huawei, Tecent and Haier are the top 5 on the list. Moreover, the top 3 companies are Haier, Xiaomi Technology and Lenovo Group on the list of electrical and electronic industry.
It is known that 2014 “the Most Admired Chinese Enterprises” ranking list is based on the questionnaire survey to 1037 company senior managers from all walks of life. The list consists of nine indicators such as the product and service status, long-term investment value, proper use of corporate assets, innovation ability, management quality, the ability to absorb and retain talents ,to name a few. At the same time, the list refers to relevant information from State Information Center, State Statistics Bureau, State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, China Association of Enterprises, stock exchanges of Shanghai and Shenzhen and All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce.
The list focuses on the rapid development of Internet enterprises. Three companies out of the top five on the list are from the Internet and Internet services industry. Meanwhile, the list also pays attention to enterprises insisting on creativity and innovation.
Whereas, Haier, which is in the progress of exploration on business model innovation on the list, are subject to key evaluation, it is believed that “Haier focuses on the setup of the platform and the implementation of assets inferiority” mode, and more efforts are made on the accumulation of social resources and the satisfaction to personalized demands of users”. Meanwhile, the report pointed that “The decision-making of middle tier dismissal is deemed as the throes of a new life bred,it is not easy, but it conforms to the tendency of modern management and coincides with grand logic of “inverted pyramid”.
In fact, the “Assets Light” model is completely new management mode raised by Haier in the Internet. As early as in 2005, Haier proposed the model of “Win-win Combination between Employee and Order”, and Haier subverted the strategy theme to be “Platform Formation from Business, Makers Evolution from Employees and Personalization of Employers” in 2014, devoting to converting the entity from originally closed organization into an open ecosystem and integrating global resources to accomplish goals. In the mean time, employees transform from passive executer into active entrepreneur, achieving the goal of maker being of everyone on the basis of grasping needs of users.
The persistent spirit of innovation not only won the recognition of the “Fortune” magazine but also received widely high praise in the global industry. Haier was the only business from China ranking among top ten in “Top 50 of Worldwide Most Innovative Business” issued by BCG from the United State, and ranked top among consumer and retail companies. In 2014, Haier was awarded with the title of most innovative business all over the world granted by “Fast Company” Magazine.
