Haier Asia Co., a Tokyo-based unit of Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer Haier Group Co., plans to launch an Internet refrigerator using the Google Android operating system as early as this summer, industry sources said Wednesday.
Japanese home appliance giants are also committed to the development of "intelligent household electrical appliance" connected to the network. Haier takes over the business of Sanyo motor, but the brand force in Japan is at a disadvantage, so they consider to introduce a new generation of products actively to improve its cognition degree.
The new refrigerator adopts double door design, capacity is 275L. The two doors up and down are respectively arranged with 32 inch LCD screen, and it is equipped with cameras and sensors. The application software (App) is lined on the LCD screens, it is convenient as same as the intelligent mobile phone to operate.
Haier Asia plans to cooperate with network company so as to analyze the refrigerator ingredients, and recommend the corresponding menu. Haier also considers to cooperate with security company to provide service to confirm the safety of users, when the parents who live alone did not open and close the refrigerator continuous days, it will be notified.
It is expected that the price of this refrigerator will be higher than the equivalent capacity of the commodity, but it has not yet been set. Haier Asia President Itou Kaya said, "Strive to get rid of the one-off practice of just selling a white household appliance as completing the task ", and he expressed the goals of cooperation with other industry.
