On March 31th, modularization strategy of Haier is released in Beijing. Haier and Alibaba joint together and ceremoniously launch the second generation of TV of Haier & Ali which is the world’s first customizable modularized TV.
At present, smart TVs on the market have integrated many external resources and enriched the content of TVs, but they do not give customers the right to choose on their own accord. TV itself is a stable product that cannot upgrade, which means that it is only in a condition of “semi-open”, so it can hardly meet the actual needs of customers.
After having had an in-depth understanding of customer’s needs through U+ interactive platform, Haier, integrated the most sophisticated modules with software and hardware functions in TV industry, customized TVs according to customer’s needs and realized characteristic mode of production. Cooperative companies in the industry chain can focus on their own fields and form leading advantages, and thus step out the “apple step” with Haier features.
The second generation of TV of Haier & Ali integrates all the functions to module by using 86PIN connecter of industrial standard, satisfying customer’s needs by different modules of functions. Haier TV customized platform was also released on the product launch and customers can customize product according to their own needs, including size, screen, core function, configuration, appearance and color, etc. It can be seen that modularization is the real sign of the open of TV industry and TV of Haier & Ali is the product of this industrial open.
Except for meeting the needs of customization, modularization also relieves the burden of customers caused by the high cost of upgrade. TV of Haier & Ali can be upgraded both in software and hardware just by changing the modules. If the service life of a TV is 6 to 8 years, then the costs of changing a TV every two years approach 20 thousand Yuan. However, changing modules twice only needs 400 Yuan, saving at least 65% for upgrading.
In purchasing, V shopping plaza of the second generation of TV of Haier & Ali still gives the preferential policy of subsidizing 2000 Yuan when you spend 5000 Yuan and continues the subsidy of Fast Taxi. It has subsidized 10 million in 2014 and plans to subsidize more than 200 million this year. From coming into the market in October 2015 to the present, V shopping plaza has upgraded to 4.0 and has been designed to upgrade to 8.0. On this launch, Haier also reveals its idea of cyber-family. This idea is based on DCO double audio frequency techniques.
