December 17 of 2015 witnessed the World Internet Conference 2015 in Wuzhen. Themes of this year’s Conference fell on Internet+, smart manufacturing and corporate transformation. Zhang Ruimin, chairman of the Board and CEO of Haier Group made a 9-minute long speech themed on Haier’s Corporate Transformation Explorations in the Internet Era, attracting broad media attention.

In Zhang’s speech, he talked about zero-distance to users if traditional enterprises wanted to transform themselves to internet enterprises. He also mentioned that right now it was a challenge as well as opportunity for China’s domestic enterprises to transform.

Bai Yansong, a renowned CCTV journalist interviewed CEO Zhang after the conference and expressed his appreciation at both Mr. Zhang’s speech and what Haier had been doing.

Within days, China’s major domestic media including CCTV and Xinhua News Agency made intensive coverage on CEO Zhang’s concepts as well as Haier’s innovative transformation undertakings.
