According to the report in The Nation (a Thailand newspaper) on July 13, the revenue of Haier's branch in Thailand has reached 7 billion baht in recent two years (around RMB 1.33 billion). Thanks to the contribution by air conditioners and refrigerators, the revenue of this year is expected to exceed 2.6 billion baht (around RMB 490 million). With such splendid performance, Haier is striving to become the third largest seller in Thailand's home appliance market.
In order to enhance the brand and stimulate the local demands, Haier plans to launch a series of new products, covering washing machines, air conditioners, and refrigerators. Meanwhile, Haier has built a R&D center in its Thailand plant to get a better understanding of consumers' demands. This year, Haier has input 50 million baht (around RMB 9.498 million) to upgrade manufacturing devices to substantially boost their productivity.
Next·year, Haier·plans·to·set·up·an·air·conditioner·test·center. Yang Xiaolin from Haier's Thai branch emphasized, "Haier is a new player here, so brand building is very important." While introducing new high-quality products in Thailand's major cities, Haier will open the first Haier store in Bangkok, which shall serve as a communication platform with customers to enhance the competitiveness of Haier brand.
