Recently, Japanese users have uploaded several photos of disaster-relief efforts in Kumamoto for the Snapshot Haier campaign. The images show how Haier is participating on the frontlines of the rescue efforts.
Beginning on July 4th, the Kumamoto region of Kyushu was hit by continuous torrential rains, causing floods and mudslides. Haier Japan donated a total of 40 Haier appliances in the beginning, including refrigerators, freezers, and washing machines to provide relief to disaster-stricken areas and support the post-disaster reconstruction.
The torrential rain lasted for a month. After intense rescue efforts, there are still about 1,400 people living in the shelter in Kumamoto. The prolonged rainfall and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic have intensified people’s needs for frozen food storage and laundry services in the disaster-stricken areas. Listening to people’s needs, Haier Japan donated emergency supplies such as refrigerators and washing machines to help rapidly set up healthy living environments at shelters and volunteer centers in the disaster-hit areas.
The refrigerators donated by Haier can store food in multiple scenarios, which meet the needs of people in the disaster-struck area to store a variety of ingredients. Through the healthy laundry scenario, people in the disaster area can also clean and sterilize clothes through Haier washing machines. Haier Japan’s public-welfare actions have been commended by many people and further enhanced public favorability towards the Haier brand.
Prior to that, Haier Japan took into account people’s needs in terms of pandemic prevention and protection measures, and urgently raised 100,000 masks for Japanese people. Haier Japan continues to strive to address societal issues, with a focus on prioritizing people’s needs, and is pro-actively practicing corporate social responsibility to achieve brand leadership.
