With a Focus on 'Made in India, Made for India,' Haier Expands Greater Noida Plant with New AC Production and Injection Molding Units, Investing INR 1,000 Crore

Haier Appliances India, the No. 1 global major appliances brand for 16 consecutive years, has expanded its AC manufacturing with ground breaking capabilities and inaugurated a new Injection Molding facility at its Greater Noida plant. One of the leading home appliances manufacturer in India, this development is another step towards strengthening the "Made in India, Made for India" initiative.

The groundbreaking ceremony was led by the Hon’ble Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Manoj Kumar Singh and Mr. NS Satish, President, Haier Appliances India. The milestone reaffirms Haier’s commitment to ‘Made in India, Made for India,’ strengthening local manufacturing, fostering innovation, and driving economic growth of the country.

Haier has committed significant investments to these new facilities. Between 2024-2028, Haier will make an additional investment of over ₹1,000 crore, creating employment for additional 3,500 people, and will significantly contribute to the economic growth of Uttar Pradesh. These investments are a key part of Haier’s strategy to expand its manufacturing footprint in India.

The upcoming AC factory will boast an impressive annual production capacity of 2.5 million units, expanding the existing 1.5 million units to a total of 4 million units. Meanwhile, the Injection Molding facility will strengthen the production of key components, enhancing manufacturing efficiency across Haier’s product categories.

With 90% of all appliances being manufactured locally by Haier India, the new facilities will further reduce dependencies on imports while ensuring faster production cycles to meet the rising demand for Haier’s products in India and neighboring markets.

Gracing occasion, Shri Manoj Kumar Singh, Chief Secretary, Government of Uttar Pradesh said, “We extend our sincere congratulations to Haier India on the significant milestone of expanding its manufacturing operations in Greater Noida. This achievement underscores the growing collaboration between Uttar Pradesh and leading global manufacturers. We are confident that this facility will play a crucial role in driving the state’s economic growth, and further establish India as a key player in the global manufacturing sector. We wish Haier India continued success in its endeavors.”

On the occasion, Mr. NS Satish, President, Haier Appliances India, expressed, "The inauguration of the Injection Molding factory and the ground breaking ceremony of the AC manufacturing unit mark another milestone in our journey to truly become a partner in India’s economic growth. This expansion at the Greater Noida plant underscores our commitment to the country’s ‘Make in India’ initiative and has been made possible by the strong support of the Government of India. The upcoming AC manufacturing unit will significantly enhance our production capacity to meet the growing local demand while also creating significant job opportunities."

Haier’s manufacturing journey in Uttar Pradesh began in the year 2019 with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Haier India and the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Since then, Haier has invested over ₹1,400 crore in Uttar Pradesh during 2019-2023, directly employing around 3,500 people in the state.
